In July 1998, Pastors Eric and Shellee Cox answered God’s call to serve as Senior Pastor and co-laborer at Living Word Fellowship Church. For nearly 28 years, they have faithfully led the congregation with a passionate, God-given vision to be a bright light of His love, life, and power in Northwest Oklahoma.
Pastor Eric Cox holds a Master’s Degree in Practical Ministries from Wagner Leadership Institute. His deep commitment to both the church and the broader community is reflected in his many years of service, including:
- Chaplain for the Oklahoma Senate
- Chaplain for the Woodward Police Department
- Long-time Chairman of the Woodward County National Day of Prayer (over 25 years)
- Regional leader for OAPN- Oklahoma Apostolic Prayer Network (serving five counties for over 20 years)
- Current Secretary/Treasurer of the Woodward Ministerial Alliance (previously served as President)
- Board member of For The Cross Ministries, Macedonia Ministries, and High Plains Outreach Center (a homeless shelter)
Currently, Pastor Eric sits on the international council for the Evangelical Protestant Baptist Church Works and Mission International in the Ivory Coast. He also serves as the Chairman for The Hope Center Food and Resource Center.
In 2001, Pastor Eric founded Families Helping Families, which has grown under his leadership as Founder and Chairman into The Hope Center, Food & Resource Center — Northwest Oklahoma’s largest assistance ministry. Today, The Hope Center serves over 6,000 individuals annually across 18 communities in 8 counties, providing vital food and resources to those in need.
Beyond full-time ministry, Pastor Eric also manages a real estate rental properties company and an agricultural business in Northwest Oklahoma.
Pastor Shellee Cox serves faithfully alongside her husband, bringing her gifts as a gifted administrator and leader. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and has served on the board of the Woodward Pregnancy Center. With excellence and care, she oversees many areas of church ministry and helps nurture the life and health of the congregation.
Pastor Shellee's deep love for Jesus is evident in the way she serves others, consistently extending compassion, wisdom, and encouragement to those around her. She carries a genuine burden to see people cared for and strengthened in their faith, and her quiet yet powerful influence leaves a lasting impact on individuals and families alike.
Together, Eric and Shellee have been married for nearly 28 years. They are blessed with two grown, married children and nine grandchildren. They also cherish the memory of their two grown children, their daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren who are now with the Lord in heaven.
Under the leadership of Pastors Eric and Shellee, Living Word Fellowship Church continues to flourish as a place where God’s presence is experienced and His love is extended to the community. Their obedience to God’s call has left a lasting legacy of faith, hope, love and compassion for others across Northwest Oklahoma.
